Linguistics Olympiad

In February of this year, twenty nine Transition Year pupils took part in the first round of the AILO. They solved a series of challenging linguistic puzzles. Four of our pupils, Joshua McMahon, Julian Larkin, Aidan Murnane and Conor Dunne qualified to take part at national level.

This competition took place on the 20th March in Dublin City University.  All of our participants performed well and Aidan Murnane qualified to become part of the Irish Linguistics Olympiad Team with whom he will represent Ireland this July in Solvenia at the International Linguistics Olympiad.

This is a great achievement and we wish him well.

Thanks to Ms. Rose for all her help and encouragement.
